Connotations and Implementation Paths of the International Law of the Global Security Initiative

Abstract  In terms of international law, the Global Security Initiative has a full range of knowledge and a complete system to clarify the conceptual guidance for maintaining global security, raise important principles for ensuring global security and develope specific methods. The Global Security Initiative is an important theoretical innovation in international law, consolidating the framework of global security norms and contributing to the formation of the Global Security Law. The implementation of the Global Security Initiative should see the establishment of a security community as its tenet and goal, follow the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, adhere to multilateralism with the United Nations at its core, and combine the considerations of development and security issues. The Global Security Initiative provides an opportunity for the improvement of legal system of China’s national security, reflects overall plans to safeguard traditional and non-traditional security and bridges the gaps in the existing legal system of national security. In addition, the Global Security Initiative is a Chinese solution to global security challenges in response to the development trend of security issues and its implementation depends on the guarantee of international law.
