Abstract：Previous studies have plentiful fruits on the relations between sea hegemony and continental balance of power， but it is necessary to discuss it in detail. The paper further researches the structural type， operational mechanism and influence on the relationship between them. According to the different power relationship between sea powers and countries in the continent， the balance of power can be classified into two types: one results from continental countries themselves， another from continental countries and sea powers. The different power contrast and balance have different influences on sea hegemony and continental powers.
It is the realistic annotation of sea hegemony and continental balance of power promoted by the U.S. and Great Britain.
